Itinerary

Morning:
You’ll be picked up from your hotel in Luxor and transferred to the train station. Board your first-class train to Aswan. Upon arrival, your private Egyptologist guide will meet you to begin exploring the city’s key historical sites:

Aswan High Dam

A modern marvel, the Aswan High Dam was built in the 1960s during President Gamal Abdel Nasser’s era. It significantly impacted Egypt's economy and environment by controlling Nile flooding and generating hydroelectric power.

The Unfinished Obelisk

Located in the granite quarries of Aswan, this massive ancient obelisk—commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut—was abandoned when cracks appeared during its carving. Had it been completed, it would have stood 42 meters tall and weighed over 1,200 tons.

Philae Temple

Dedicated to the goddess Isis, Philae Temple is one of Egypt's most beautiful temples. Originally located on Philae Island, it was relocated to Agilkia Island to protect it from the rising waters of the Nile. The temple's intricate carvings and mythological significance make it a must-see.

Lunch:
Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local Nile-side restaurant.

Evening:
Check in at your 5-star hotel in Aswan for a comfortable overnight stay.

Meals: Lunch
Overnight: Aswan Hotel

Early Morning:
Start your day with a breakfast box from the hotel, then depart with your guide in a private A/C vehicle to Abu Simbel (approx. 3 hours drive).

Abu Simbel Temples

These awe-inspiring temples were built by Pharaoh Ramses II in the 13th century BC. The main temple is famously aligned so that twice a year, sunlight illuminates the inner sanctuary's statues, including Ramses II and the gods Amun-Ra, Ra-Horakhty, and Ptah. The second temple is dedicated to his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari. The complex was relocated in the 1960s to save it from flooding caused by the Aswan High Dam.

Lunch:
Return to Aswan for lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon:
Transfer to the Aswan train station for your first-class train back to Luxor. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred back to your hotel, marking the end of your remarkable 2-day tour.
